Bikesport has been a Ballard neighborhood institution on the corner of 24th Avenue & 56th Street since 1995. Our shop has changed thousands of flats, tuned-up countless bikes from unicycles to full-blown race rigs and sold more bikes, helmets and clothing than we can remember. We are a full-service shop supporting Seattle cyclists with a well-stocked selection of bikes, components, clothing and accessories. The shop has been under our ownership and care for nearly 2 years now. We have taken our lifelong love of cycling and married that to a family history in the building materials business to give Bikesport a breath of fresh air. In 2011 we completed our remodel of the store as well as sprucing up the logo and a few other things. The main change for Bikesport has been a confidence in our customer's desire for even better bikes, better brands with a broader, higher level of attention to performance details. 

- In 2011 Bikesport began a robust partnership with BIKEFIT (http://www.bikefit.com) to train and equip the shop with state-of-the-art bike fitting for our long-distance, racing and comfort challenged cyclists customers. The shop maintains a high level accreditation in these techniques as well as utilizing the "Switch-It" tool that allows our customers to try several saddles in the shop before picking the best fit.

- This past year we have acquired the talents of Travis, Peter and Garth in the shop as well as more supporting mechanics. Travis is our own UCI-Certified race mechanic solving the tough problems and building up the service department to the highest standards.

- We are now stocking bikes of all levels from all-around family bikes to race-ready rigs from Eddy Merckx, Jamis, Giant and Cannondale.

- In 2011 we began a series of shop rides and women's cycling seminars. We will be expanding on those this coming year.  See our Class page for details on our classes and we will be announcing our shop rides very soon!
